Campus Bocconi

An innovative urban space, a meeting point between the excellence of research and cutting-edge architecture, the new Campus of Bocconi University is shaped under the artistic direction of the Japanese studio S A N A A and the guidance of a project team that sees Advanced Engineering s.r.l. responsible for the energy optimization of the intervention as a whole, the energy concept, the technological development of the project and construction management of all systems.

The Campus is modernly inserted into the urban fabric of the city and the new buildings are part of a broader cutting-edge growth project in terms of Environmental Sustainability and Energy Saving, configuring itself as a ZERO Energy Campus (overall energy self-sufficiency), zero local emissions emitted in the environment and LEED PLATINUM certified.

The most advanced passive solutions have been adopted to reduce casing dispersions, increase performance and eliminate thermal bridges. We have studied and used innovative and cutting-edge systems with perfect control of the implemented solutions and ongoing verification of energy saving and efficiency objectives through sophisticated simulation software. Today that the Campus is completed and used by hundreds of students and citizens, one cannot help but be fascinated by its enveloping spatiality and the harmony between the parts with which the great complexity of the intervention was resolved.
